The Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce hosted a shred event and food drive at Lincoln County Publishing Co. in Newcastle the morning of Saturday, Oct. 26. The event was open to all community members as well as chamber members.
Without A Trace Mobile Shredding was on-site from 9 a.m. to noon, and in that time visitors donated over 200 pounds of food and $750 in cash/check in exchange for shredding.
It was recommended that attendees donate nonperishable food items per box/bag shredded, or $10 per box/bag shredded. Donations went to benefit the Ecumenical Food Pantry in Newcastle.
Louis Doe Home Center, of Newcastle, and Chapman and Chapman Insurance Agency, Damariscotta Bank & Trust, and Supplies Unlimited, all of Damariscotta, were the sponsoring chamber members that made this event possible for the community.
The Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce will host another annual fall shred event next year on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, from 9 a.m. to noon at Lincoln County Publishing Co.
