The submission Friday of a petition for a statewide referendum to repeal the state’s school administration consolidation effort tags Nov. 3, 2009 as the day the law might die.

Churches and volunteer groups from Jefferson and Whitefield are raising funds for the Damariscotta-based Community Energy Fund by hosting a spaghetti dinner on Sat., Oct 18.

Question 2 on the November ballot is the Casino question, asking voters, “Do you want to allow a certain Maine company to have the only casino in Maine, to be located in Oxford County, if part of the revenue is used to fund specific state programs?”

Eunice B. Cushing, 86, of Norridgewock, died Sept. 26 at the Augusta Rehab Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born Nov. 6, 1921.
