An anonymous report of a vehicle operating erratically resulted in the arrest of a Portland woman for operating under the influence of drugs in Wiscasset Oct. 7. Alison Spikell, 63, of Portland, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs with one prior, a class D misdemeanor, according to a press release from the Wiscasset Police Department.
Electrical Malfunction Cause of Alna Fire

An electrical malfunction was the cause the structure fire that broke out in Alna Wednesday, Oct. 21, the State Fire Marshal’s Office determined. The fire originated in an exterior wall of the living room of the West Alna Road home and progressed up the wall and into the roof, State Fire Marshal Office Sgt. Ken Grimes said.
