The Wiscasset Board of Selectmen has operated as a four-person body since former Selectman Bill Barnes’ resignation in August. The four-member board has voted 2-2 on several issues, defeating motions to determine how to proceed with foreclosed-on properties and denying a funding request from the school department for unmanned aerial vehicles.

Accident Closes Route 1 in Wiscasset Five Days After it Occurred
Both lanes of Route 1 in Wiscasset were temporarily closed as a vehicle was pulled from the woods at approximately 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1 in the vicinity of Norm’s Used Cars. The accident is thought to have occurred between 1 a.m. to 3 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 27, Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline said.

Edgecomb Thrift Shop Celebrates Anniversary
The Edgecomb Thrift Shop will soon celebrate 10 years of service to the community. In early November 2005, the Thrift Shop began because two women needed something to do. Each had recently retired. The church in Edgecomb had a new kitchen, so the old one was sitting idle. Fixtures were ordered, walls were painted, and donations began to arrive.
