Sylvia Faith Percy was born to Marion Pinkham and Jacob Percy, of Wiscasset, on Oct. 8 at Maine Medical Center. She weighed in at 4 pounds 8 ounces and was 18 inches long.
Bristol Students Learn about Government
Seventh-graders at Bristol Consolidated School had a special guest in their social studies class Nov. 4. State Sen. Chris Johnson, D-Somerville, visited the class to talk about the U.S. Constitution and the branches of government for Liberty Day, an event sponsored by the Bristol Area Lions Club.
Damariscotta Cancer Survivor, Son Finish NYC Marathon
Bridget Widmaier, formerly of Damariscotta, and her son, Kurt Widmaier both finished the New York City Marathon Nov. 1. This was the second time mother and son had run the marathon together, the first being when Bridget was two months pregnant with Kurt in 1996.
Whitefield Selectmen to Hold Meeting on Clary Lake Abatement Requests
The Whitefield Board of Selectmen will hold an informational meeting for Clary Lake waterfront owners who requested tax abatements due to the lake’s depleted water levels in the previous year. The meeting, to be held Nov. 17, aims to educate landowners about the town’s current valuation of waterfront property, which is already “as low as it gets,” Whitefield Assessors’ Agent Tom Hayes said.
