A Newcastle man has pleaded guilty to two felonies in connection with sexually abusing a 3-year-old girl and threatening a sheriff’s deputy with a knife.
Power Outages, Flood Warning Affecting Lincoln County

Power outages in Lincoln County are on the rise, with 176 homes affected in the 3:13 p.m. bulletin from Central Maine Power; up from 57 earlier in the day. The National Weather Service radio tower on Blinn Hill in Dresden is still out of service as rainfall continues to pummel the area. A total of three weather alerts issued by the NWS are also in effect.

Lincoln County Healthcare to Lease Former Wiscasset Primary School
Lincoln County Healthcare will lease the former Wiscasset Primary School and, in lieu of rent payments, will cover the cost of heating the building for its six-month occupancy, in addition to snow and trash removal. Wiscasset selectmen unanimously approved the terms of the lease at their Tuesday, Sept. 1 meeting and authorized Town Manager Marian Anderson to enter into an official agreement.
Wiscasset Ambulance Service Director Resigns
Roland Abbott, director of the Wiscasset Ambulance Service since 2005, announced his resignation Tuesday, Sept. 1. Abbott also resigned from his position as Wiscasset’s emergency management director and health officer. The resignations will take effect Sept. 14.

Lincoln County Kicks Off Budget Season
