At Jefferson’s annual town meeting referendum March 31, voters approved the proposed $729,600 municipal budget and approved all but one article on the warrant, according to unofficial results provided by the town.

Whitefield Elementary School has revised the target date it will reopen for classes.


Whitefield Elementary School Principal Josh McNaughton said last week light fixtures in the gymnasium, the source of two separate fires in just over one year, will be completely replaced before the school is reopened to students.

Lincoln Academy senior Alexandra Welch won the state Lions Club Speak Out Championship in Auburn on April 25. She won three rounds of competition to get to the state level and win the $500 prize. The driver of a Chevrolet Malibu was taken to the hospital after the vehicle struck two pickup trucks on Center Street in Nobleboro the morning of April 27, according to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Sgt. Alan Shea.

A Wiscasset family whose daughter was helped by The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital wanted to give back, and so they teamed up with the hospital’s director of special and annual giving to develop a new charity license plate.
