A leak in the fuel return line of a diesel generator was the cause of over 100 gallons of fuel seeping into Poorhouse Cove in South Bristol Wednesday, Nov. 5.

Katie E. Smith and Benjamin T. Sylvia were married at Pemaquid Point Sept. 5. Katie is the daughter of Robert and Paula Smith, of Cape Coral, Fla. Benjamin is the son of Judy Van Dine, of Bristol, and the late Robert Sylvia.

NWS Extends Winter Storm Warning to 10 p.m. Sunday
At 12:28 p.m. Sunday the National Weather Service issued a bulletin extending the Winter Storm Watch until 10 p.m. on Sunday night. This extension is significant as forecasters are calling for overnight low temps to slide into the mid 20’s, meaning any additional delay in the storm moving out could bring significantly more snowfall to the area.

Waldoboro Man Leads Rescue of 236 Syrian Refugees Stranded at Sea
Due to the quick response of M/V Liberty Grace, under the command of Waldoboro resident Michael Tolley, 236 Syrian refugees will not be added to that tally. On Nov. 17, Tolley and the crew of M/V Liberty Grace rescued 236 Syrian refugees that had been stranded at sea for almost a week and provided them with food, water, medical attention, and safe passage to shore.
