On July 30, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a report of a theft of an L.L. Bean tote bag from Damariscotta Lake Park in Jefferson. The complainant stated that she went in for a swim and when she returned, her tote bag was missing. Further investigation to follow if leads develop.

The Damariscotta Board of Selectman unanimously approved a motion directing Town Manager Matt Lutkus to develop a moratorium ordinance on adult entertainment establishments at its regular meeting Aug. 20.

Wiscasset School Department interim Superintendent Lyford Beverage released a memo Aug. 17 to the Wiscasset School Board that outlines the necessity and feasibility of closing one of Wiscasset’s three schools and identifies the Wiscasset Middle School as the likely choice for closure.
