NWS Issues Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Memorial Day Afternoon/Evening
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Lincoln County and surrounding areas through 9 p.m. Memorial Day. A “watch” is a lower grade advisory that means severe weather may not be imminent. Radar images monitored at intellicast.com at 3:09 p.m. indicated highly scattered weather systems moving aloft from the northwest at a fairly good clip. The NWS advisory covers the possibility that any one of these could develop into a thunderstorm.
Commitment Error Results in Tax Increase for Edgecomb
Although the residents of Edgecomb approved a flat-line budget for Fiscal Year 2015 at their annual town meeting May 17, a two-year tax commitment error will result in an increase of two mills in taxes for the upcoming year.
