In an effort to assist thousands of residents without power on Christmas Day, warming stations have opened at three locations in Lincoln County. Readers in the area who have power and out of state readers unaffected by the power outages may want to contact others they may know who are suffering from a power outage in Lincoln County and advise them of these locations. All of the locations will remain open until power is restored.

Some Lincoln County schools and businesses are reporting closures and delays following an overnight snowstorm that lasted a bit longer than forecast, and may have dumped more snow than predicted. On the bright side, no power outages have been reported in Lincoln County by Central Maine Power despite the snowfall accumulation, which stayed light and “fluffy” because of low temps. Additionally, aside from the usual slide offs, no major incidents have been reported regarding the storm at the time of this posting.
