CMP Working to Restore Power to Thousands of Homes

Crews from Central Maine Power are working in the dark of night under subfreezing conditions to return power to thousands of Lincoln County homes. The massive effort, with over 65,000 homes without power statewide, follows a slow moving storm that spread a coating of ice over the area during a 43-hour period.
Wiscasset Town Manager Soon to Leave Post
Wiscasset’s Town Manager Laurie Smith will leave her post Feb. 7, 2014, to become Kennebunkport’s town manager. Smith submitted her resignation to the board of selectmen Dec. 10, and broke the news to town employees the next day during the weekly office meeting.
Boothbay Harbor Man Indicted for Alleged Burglary Spree
A Lincoln County grand jury has indicted a Boothbay Harbor man for allegedly burglarizing and stealing from a long list of area homes and businesses.
The Dec. 11 indictment charges Ronald G. Fuller, 63, of 57 Crest Ave., with 59 counts of burglary, theft and related crimes.
Waldoboro Lawyer Arrested a Second Time

Early Morning Blaze Consumes Waldoboro Home

A fire that broke out in a home at 2844 Friendship Rd. in Waldoboro in the early hours of Dec. 27 destroyed the building, but a Waldoboro police officer helped get the single resident to safety, according to Assistant Fire Chief William Maxwell.
Sunday Night Storm Brings a Variety of Precipitation; Much Colder Temps in the Forecast

Precipitation began in Lincoln County as rainfall along the coast and an icy mix inland as the latest storm arrived in the area during the afternoon hours of Sunday. Some areas of Lincoln County saw the precipitation change over to heavy, wet snowfall in the night-time hours, while other areas ended up with mixed precipitation, according to reports.
