A Jefferson woman was transported for injuries she suffered when her car went off the road and struck a tree in Jefferson the afternoon of July 23, according to Sgt. Brendan Kane of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Arline Lawless was sentenced to 35 years in prison and ordered to pay $4500 in restitution in Lincoln County Superior Court this morning for her role in the shooting death of 34-year-old Norman Benner of Waldoboro.

Waldoboro Police have made an arrest in the case of Lady, the stray black Labrador-mix dog whose body was found to be riddled with round pellets after being found as a stray in Waldoboro and taken to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter.
