Students were evacuated from Medomak Valley High School following the discovery of a bomb threat at the school on Manktown Road Friday morning, Feb. 15. According to Waldoboro Police School Resource Officer Tom Hoepner, the threat was delivered in the form of a note, which was discovered on a table.

NWS: Storm’s Duration to be Shorter Than Forecast
A bulletin from the National Weather Service has advised the storm that passed through Lincoln County on Wednesday will be of shorter duration than forecast. The original forecast called for a Winter Weather Advisory to remain in effect until 3 p.m. on Thursday. The bulletin, issued at 3:12 p.m. on Wednesday, now has the Winter Weather Advisory ending at 6 a.m. on Thursday morning.
More Snow Than Forecast in Sunday Storm

Lots Of Snow, No Major Damage From Blizzard
Once again Lincoln County weathered another major winter storm with a minimum of damage – even though this time it was a history-making blizzard. There were the usual minor vehicle accidents, along with school and business closures, but no major incidents occurred during the event, according to Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency Director Tod Hartung.

Storm Coming in Behind Schedule
Wednesday’s storm seems to have slowed its march toward Lincoln County, with rainfall just beginning to hit the southern most tip of Southport around noon, according to radar images monitored at intellicast.com. The latest combined forecasts indicate the leading edge of the storm should begin to affect Lincoln County in the mid afternoon, bringing an initial burst of mixed precipitation or snow depending on what part of the county you’re in at the time.
Up and Down — NWS Upgrades to Winter Storm Warning for Sunday
The National Weather Service has now issued a Winter Storm Warning in regard to a weather system forecast to visit Lincoln County beginning early Sunday morning. Lincoln County is on the northern edge of the Winter Weather Advisory area, which means we may see milder weather than areas to the south.
