A motor vehicle went off the Rt. 1 in the vicinity of Moose Crossing Garden Center in Waldoboro and snapped a utility pole in two before the vehicle burst into flames around 2:30 this afternoon.

Two days after the high winds generated by Hurricane Sandy blasted through Lincoln County, every town in Lincoln County still has power outages, according to Central Maine Power (CMP).

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a High Wind Watch for Lincoln County in regard to Hurricane Sandy, which is forecast to come ashore near Ocean City, New Jersey Monday evening, according to the NWS. Outer bands of high winds are forecast to extend well north of the storm center, bringing gusts reaching 60 mph to Lincoln County from Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning, according to the NWS.
