Breaking News — NWS Warns of Thunderstorms
At 2:32 p.m. Sunday the National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement regarding a line of thunderstorms advancing on Lincoln County, warning that hail up to ¼ inch in diameter, excessive cloud to ground lightning and gusty winds of 35 to 45 mph could accompany these storms. Radar images monitored at 2:40 p.m. indicated a large weather system tracking directly toward Damariscotta, Nobleboro and Waldoboro.

Wiscasset Raceway Sold For $130,000
On a blistering hot July 12 the Wiscasset Raceway was auctioned off to a couple from Kingfield. Richard and Vanessa Jordan came to the raceway intending to spend no more $35,000, but wound up buying the property for $130,000.
Service Station Manager Receives Twin Villages Spirit Award
The Twin Villages Downtown Alliance presented the Twin Villages Spirit Award to Colby & Gale Service Station Manager Daryl Fraser in a June 28 ceremony.
TBRJ Officer Assaulted
On May 22 Kelby Hampson, a 19-year-old inmate at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, assaulted an officer from behind in one of the jail pods. The officer had his glasses knocked off and broken and was given a black eye, according to the TBRJ Administrator Mark Westrum.
Updated – St. Andrews Emergency Department To Close
The St. Andrews Hospital and Healthcare Center emergency department will close next year and the center, in Boothbay Harbor, will cease to provide inpatient care.
