There were 85 incident reports that were taken and/or investigated; these included two thefts, five citizen assists, three criminal mischief’s, two unwanted subjects, one domestic disturbance, three business assists, two trespasses, nine agency assists, one harassment, 26 property checks, two animal complaints, one traffic hazard, one suspicious activity, nine traffic offenses, two business alarms, four motor vehicle accidents (under $1000), one residential alarm, three traffic summons and/or warnings issued, one school alarm.

Breaking News – Damariscotta Selectmen Raise Mil Rate
The Damariscotta Board of Selectmen raised the town’s mil rate from 13.4 to 14 at their July 21 meeting.
The mil rate determines what tax landowners pay per $1000 of property value.

Minnehata Fire Co. Elects Ryan Gallagher
The Minnehata Fire Co. in Nobleboro elected Ryan Gallagher on July 6 to be the department’s new fire chief.
Gallagher had been serving as acting chief for the last few weeks but was unsure whether he would step in long term.
