Two weeks ago, Union 74 Superintendent Bob Bouchard and other superintendents around Maine received a letter from Maine Education Commissioner Susan Gendron.

The amount of money the state will be forced to cut services for developmentally disabled people is shrinking, meaning the impact on what some call “Maine’s most vulnerable population” will be less severe than initially expected.

Volunteer groups and officials in the town of Waldoboro are working out many of the issues needed to stabilize relief efforts for those at risk of losing heating resources this winter.
