Windjammer Days Underway
The Friends of Windjammer Days announces the 55th annual Windjammer Days event in Boothbay Harbor, which began June 25 and runs through July 1. One highlight of the festival is the windjammers scheduled to arrive in Boothbay Harbor under full sail during the Parade of Sail on Wednesday, June 28.
Downeast Supper at Dutch Neck
The Midcoast area isn’t traditional Downeast, but the upcoming supper at the Dutch Neck Schoolhouse in Waldoboro isn’t a traditional bean supper, either. Members of the public are encouraged to break with tradition on Thursday, June 29 to enjoy a wonderful supper in what was once a one-room schoolhouse. Attendees can visit the historic St. Paul’s Union Chapel before or after supper.
Somerville’s Open Farm Day Taking Place on June 24

Public Benefit Breakfast
A public breakfast will be held at the Wells-Hussey American Legion Post 42 in Damariscotta on Sunday, June 25 from 8-10 a.m. The breakfast is a benefit for Legion Auxiliary programs, including their scholarship fund.
Tour of Pemaquid Point Lighthouse and Presentation
Caring for Kids, a Lincoln County 501(c)(3), will hold a fundraising lecture on Wednesday, July 5 from 7-9 p.m. at the education center at Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Park. As a special feature, Bob Kline has agreed to open the lighthouse tower to tours at 6 p.m., an hour before the actual lecture, for those who come early and register for the lecture.
Summer Benefit Concert at North Nobleboro Baptist Church
The public is invited to attend a summer concert Sunday, June 25 at 6 p.m. at the North Nobleboro Baptist Church. The church is located at 550 Upper East Pond Road in Nobleboro. Paul Smeltzer and Linda Dolloff Pease will provide the music. The church choir will sing several selections and the congregation will have an opportunity to do some singing also.
‘A House Worth Saving’ at Lincoln Home
The public is invited to a program called “A House Worth Saving: An Architectural & Archeological Investigation” on Monday, June 19 from 3-4 p.m. Tim Dinsmore, a historical archaeologist, will share his investigation of the former Constance Curley House in Damariscotta Mills.
Sheepscott Community Church Supper and Barbecue
From 5–7 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, Sheepscott Community Church will host a community supper and barbecue at its valley church, 8 The Kings Highway, Newcastle. Grilled meats, buns, homemade baked beans, and a variety of salads and sides, desserts, and beverages will be available. There will be inside and outside seating, weather permitting. A free-will offering is asked.
Rock the Harbor on June 16
The Olde Bristol Days fundraising committee is thrilled to announce the third annual Rock the Harbor event hosted by The Contented Sole restaurant in New Harbor on Friday, June 16, beginning at 5 p.m. Returning for the third year will be Portland’s finest reggae band, Stream Reggae; also joining the lineup will be an exciting local band, Diamond in the Rough.
Inn Along the Way Invites all to Summer Social
On Saturday, June 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Inn Along the Way in Damariscotta will hold its first summer social — and everyone is invited. Among the planned activities spread out over the 32 acres of Chapman Farm, at 741 Main St. in Damariscotta, will be farm wagon rides; kite flying with the Nor’easter Kite Club, weather permitting; a picnic corner; lemonade, Round Top ice cream, and baked goodies in the farmhouse’s summer kitchen. There will be a chance to meet Apifera Farm’s sweet donkey and goat, and more.
Outboard Motor Talks at Railway Village
On Tuesday, June 20 and on Wednesday, June 21, outboard motor historian Larry Stevenson will present two talks exploring major innovations in outboard motor design in the early 20th century.
Free Fishing Weekend is June 3 and 4
Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife is encouraging everyone to get out on Maine’s waters to take advantage of free fishing days. Free fishing weekend will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4, when any person may fish for free without a license on Maine’s waterways, except those who have had their license suspended or revoked. All other rules and regulations, including bag and possession limits, apply.
