James Strohn Woodard, of Boothbay, died peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, April 24, his 81st birthday, from complications related to Parkinson’s disease, with which he’d been recently diagnosed.

Nora Applegate Cyr, beloved wife of Paul J. Cyr, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024 after a long illness. Nora and Paul lived happily in Bristol Mills for 44 years and attended the Congregational Church, just up the road from their house. Their church membership and participation were a source of comfort to them both.

John Henry Chapman Sr., “Chippy,” 83, of the Gardiner Road, Dresden, passed away on May 6, 2024 at his home.

Edward “Ward” Weed Wilgus, born on July 30, 1946, lost a short battle with pancreatic cancer on March 6, 2023. He was a man of distinct character and unique personality. He was a cherished father, brother, husband, and friend. However, beneath the surface, there existed a soul with a deep passion and zest for life and adventure.

William F. Keller, 79, of Newcastle, died on the morning of April 28, peacefully at home with his loved ones by his side. He was a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather.

John E. “Joe” Reed Jr., 80, of Gray, passed away on April 26, 2024, at the Springbrook Center in Westbrook. John was born on April 10, 1944, in Waldoboro, to parents John E. Sr. and Bernice A. (Walters) Reed.

Thomas Bertrand Fontaine, 74, of Nobleboro, passed away peacefully with the dawn on April 27, 2024, while under care at St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor.

Jamie Allan Humason, 57, of Crystal River, Fla., passed away at his home April 11, 2024. He was born March 5, 1967 in Damariscotta. He was predeceased by his parents, Elwood Humason Jr. and Judy Humason; and his grandfather, Elwood.

Carolyn S. (Spiers) Passaro, of Stoneham, Mass., formerly of Stamford, Conn., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, with her family by her side. Carolyn was born on Aug. 18, 1941, to Arthur Everett Spiers and Harriet (Ferris) Spiers. She was the oldest of three children and spent time between her home in Stamford and the family vacation home in Round Pond.
