Carolyn S. (Spiers) Passaro, of Stoneham, Mass., formerly of Stamford, Conn., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, with her family by her side. Carolyn was born on Aug. 18, 1941, to Arthur Everett Spiers and Harriet (Ferris) Spiers. She was the oldest of three children and spent time between her home in Stamford and the family vacation home in Round Pond.

Roger E. Varnum, 59, Dresden, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick.

Gustaf Reinhold Westfeldt McIlhenny died peacefully at his home in Damariscotta, on April 21, 2024. Gus was born in 1951 in New Orleans, La., the youngest of the five children, to Paul W. McIlhenny and Margaret Polk McIlhenny, who predeceased him. He is survived by his sister, Sara McIlhenny Ringle; sister-in- law, Judith McIlhenny, of Louisiana; four nieces; and many cousins.

David A. Chase, of Whitefield and Portland, also known as “Babe,” passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on April 18, 2024. He was born Nov. 29, 1942 in Bath, the son of Norman and Lydia (Atwood) Chase.

Patricia Faith Leighton, 92, of Falmouth, passed away on April 23 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pasadena, Calif. on April 10, 1932, she was a daughter of John Nutter and Dorothea (Perreault) Nutter Roberts.

Shirley R. Gallagher, 88, of Nobleboro, passed away quietly at her home on April 26, 2024. She was born in Westbrook on March 24, 1936, the daughter of Marjory (Wilson) and Robert M. Robinson.

Dana L. Martin, 81, of Wiscasset, passed away on April 11, 2024 at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta. He was born in February of 1943 in Lynn, Mass. to Donald and Margaret Martin and the third of four children – David, Donald, and Dale.

On a beautiful sunny April morning, Virginia Kennedy, 97, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at her family home of 77 years.

Merle E. Prock, 86, passed away in his home in Waldoboro on Monday, April 22, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children in the place he always loved to be.

Ruth Ann MacKinnon, 89, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2024 in Damariscotta. Ruth Ann was born on Aug. 15, 1934 in Damariscotta to Paul and Mildred (Tate) Simmonds.
