On Feb. 28, heaven gained an angel. It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Katelynd Scofield, a loving mother, compassionate wife, wonderful daughter, and friend.

Geraldine M. (Reay) Dickinson, 98, went with the angels on Feb. 29, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born in South Bristol, on Feb. 15, 1926, the oldest of seven children.

Chief Eugene M. Passaro (Ret.), of Stoneham, formerly of Stamford Conn., passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024 with his family by his side. Eugene was born in Stamford, Conn. to Michael and Emily (Pederson) Passaro on Oct. 1, 1936.

Patricia Margot Bell passed away on Feb. 27, 2024, after a seven-month battle with sarcoma. Pat was born in Rochester, N.Y. to Paul Von Bacho Sr. and Mabel Von Bacho, on March 3, 1940.

Charles J. Stepnowski, 82 years old, of Glastonbury, Conn., passed away peacefully on Feb. 25 surrounded by his loving family. Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Roseann (Bertagna); and his three children and their families, Marie and Mark Sebastyn, Amy Stepnowski and Jeff Dominick, and Michael and Roxanne Stepnowski. He was the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren, Conner, Haley, and Charlie Sebastyn, Jeffrey Jr., Kara, and Lance Dominick, and Ashleigh, Kelly, Lindsay, and Julia Stepnowski.

Albert Rudolph Kaufmann Jr., of Nobleboro, died Feb. 24, 2024 in Newcastle. Albert was born Dec. 22, 1938 in Cambridge, Mass. to Dr. Albert R. Kaufmann Sr. and Gertrude Moakler Kaufmann. He attended local schools in Massachusetts and graduated from Admiral Farragut Academy in Pine Beach, N.J. in 1956.

Daniel Lerner, an innovative radio station owner and well-known philanthropist, passed away on Feb. 21, 2024, at the age of 91, at his home in Merion, Pa.

Dr. Philip A. Hall, 95, of Jefferson, died peacefully on Feb. 18, 2024, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Born in Portland on March 3, 1928, of the late Marian P. and Albert A. Hall, he was educated in Portland public schools, graduating early from Deering High School to enter the Navy Air Corps at the close of WWII, where he served as an aerographer’s mate in the Pacific.

Christine B. Chickering, 86, of Bristol, passed away on the morning of Feb. 25, 2024, (the birthday of her son, Adam) at Windward Gardens in Camden after a period of declining health with family by her side. Born in Biddeford on Oct. 9, 1937, she was the daughter of Roderick L. Miller, Phyllis Durrell Miller Tibbetts, and stepfather, Carroll Tibbetts.

In life, Allan Humphrey Ray was full of music.

Faith Louise (Roberts) Ball, 88, of Nobleboro, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 22, 2024, surrounded by her three children. Faith was born on July 19, 1935, in Milbridge, to Guy and Myra (Hinckley) Roberts. She graduated as class salutatorian from Milbridge High School in 1953. Graduating Gorham State Teachers College in 1957, Faith began her 27-year teaching career in Connecticut. Returning to Maine, she taught at Miller and Friendship Street schools in Waldoboro until her retirement.

Robert A. Tibbetts, 82, of Bristol, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Feb. 21, 2024. Born in Utica, N.Y., on March 4, 1941, he was brought to Bristol Mills at 2 months of age and raised by Rodney and Mildred Chapman.

Duncan Frederick Saal, 22, of Boothbay, and Santa Barbara, Calif., passed away on Feb. 19, 2024 with his loving family by his side. Born in Damariscotta on Nov. 26, 2001, he grew up in the Midcoast, the greater Portland area, and spent summers in the Belgrade Lakes region. His high school years were spent in Southern California, where he enjoyed skiing with his mother and going to the beach. Duncan attended and graduated from Trivium Charter School.
