Sheriff’s Deputy Charged With Sex Crime
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Ken Hatch has been charged with two counts of class C sexual abuse of a minor and is on administrative leave.
Judge Declares Mistrial in Sexual Assault Case
A judge declared a mistrial Wednesday, June 15 in the case of a South Bristol man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl in Newcastle.
No Foul Play In Death Of Wiscasset Woman, Police Say
No charges will be filed in the death of a Wiscasset woman who, according to investigators, jumped from her boyfriend’s pickup truck as it was traveling on Route 201 in The Forks on March 20. Investigators from the Maine State Police informed the family of Kimberly “Kimi” Hill, 33, of the results of their three-month investigation on Thursday, June 16, according to the Portland Press Herald.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report
On June 9, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a report of a theft by deception incident in the Jefferson area. The complainant said he had received a phone call from someone with a foreign accent saying something was wrong with his computer and it could be fixed for $200. After giving remote access to his computer and being asked for an additional $500, he realized it was a scam and called the sheriff’s office. Deputy Gilbert advised it was a scam and he should take his computer to get it fixed.
