A 58-year-old Jefferson man is expected to be sentenced later this year to 18 months in prison for sexually assaulting a child.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Kenneth L. “Ken” Hatch III allegedly sexually abused a 15-year-old girl in 2013 and 2014, according to the lead investigator’s report.
On June 16, Deputy Kevin Dennison received a report of a burglary and theft at a residence in the Jefferson area. This case is currently under investigation by Deputy Dennison and Detective Scott Hayden.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Ken Hatch has been charged with two counts of class C sexual abuse of a minor and is on administrative leave.
A judge declared a mistrial Wednesday, June 15 in the case of a South Bristol man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl in Newcastle.
No charges will be filed in the death of a Wiscasset woman who, according to investigators, jumped from her boyfriend’s pickup truck as it was traveling on Route 201 in The Forks on March 20. Investigators from the Maine State Police informed the family of Kimberly “Kimi” Hill, 33, of the results of their three-month investigation on Thursday, June 16, according to the Portland Press Herald.
