A 36-year-old Alna man was sentenced Tuesday, Feb. 21 to two years in prison and three years of supervised release for conspiring to distribute crack cocaine and heroin.
Bradford Christopher had pleaded guilty to the charges Oct. 13, 2016, according to a press release from the office of U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II. Judge John A. Woodcock Jr. sentenced Christopher at U.S. District Court in Bangor.
Between May 2015 and August 2016, Christopher conspired to distribute crack and heroin in central Maine, according to the press release. He supplied drugs to co-conspirators and drove them to “trap houses” where the drugs were sold.
Woodcock said that by engaging in the activity, Christopher was a “traitor” to his community and “affect(ed) how young people grow up” in central Maine.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office investigated. The case was prosecuted as part of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Strategy to Combat the Opioid Epidemic.
