Local attorney Natasha C. Irving announced her bid for district attorney for Maine Prosecutorial District 6, encompassing Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, and Waldo counties, on Wednesday, July 21 at the Lincoln County Democratic Committee meeting.
Irving is running for district attorney to change policies of the district that have failed Mainers with addiction, and allocated precious resources away from prosecuting serious offenses. Her plan is to refocus policy to get Mainers with addiction into medical treatment, not prison or jail, and direct resources toward prosecuting violent and sexual offenses.
Irving was born and raised in Waldoboro, where she lives and runs her busy criminal and family law practice with help from her spouse. She is the mother of one young daughter and two stepdaughters, who are the light of her life. Irving can be reached at natasha.irving.da@gmail.com.
