Daniel Colby Jr., 34, formerly of Wiscasset, was sentenced Tuesday, Dec. 27 in U.S. District Court to more than seven years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
After a two-day trial, a jury found Colby guilty of the crime June 2, according to a press release from the office of U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II.
According to court records and trial evidence, on March 17, 2015, Colby, who had previously been convicted of multiple felonies, broke into the home of a neighbor armed with a stolen .38 caliber revolver and threatened the neighbor. The revolver was later recovered from Colby’s property in Wiscasset.
Judge George Z. Singal sentenced Colby.
