Wiscasset School Resource Officer Craig Worster spotted and arrested a registered sex offender during a recital at Wiscasset Middle High School on Thursday, April 13.
Andrew M. Seddon Jr., 36, of Wiscasset, is a lifetime registrant due to a conviction for unlawful sexual contact, according to the Maine Sex Offender Registry.
Worster spotted Seddon in attendance at the middle high school’s solo and ensemble recital Thursday, Wiscasset Police Chief Jeffrey Lange said in a press release. Seddon does not have a child at the school.
Seddon faces “various charges stemming from being in a child safe zone and violating his conditions of release,” Lange said.
He is being held without bail at Two Bridges Regional Jail, a jail employee said.
The Wiscasset Police Department does not believe Seddon had contact with any children, but asks anyone with reason to believe otherwise to contact Lange at 882-8203 or chief@wiscassetpd.org.
