A two-car accident on Bath Road in Wiscasset March 25 sent four individuals to area hospitals.
Wiscasset Police Officer James Read responded to the accident at the Allstate Insurance office on Rt. 1 at approximately 1:18 p.m. Sunday. According to Read, the accident involved Georgianna Lippman, 73, of Braintree, Mass., and Robert Wolfe 56, of Dresden.
According to Read, Lippman crossed the centerline and struck the driver’s side of Wolfe’s GMC pickup truck with her Dodge minivan.
Read said it remains unknown why Lippman crossed the center line, but Wolfe’s vehicle “came to rest against the oak tree across from the Allstate place.”
Both drivers were traveling with juvenile passengers. Wolfe, Lippman and one of the juveniles were transported to Midcoast Regional Hospital in Brunswick. One juvenile was transported to Miles Hospital.
Lippman was subsequently transported to Maine Medical Center, and her condition and that of the other individuals involved in the accident is unknown at press time.
Read said a summons is not likely to be issued at this time.
