James MacInnes, 30, died at the Schooner Inn in Wiscasset the morning of June 1 as the result of “alcohol and drug use”, according to a Wiscasset Police Department (WPD) press release.
The press release did not provide MacInnes’ place of residence or indicate the type or amounts of alcohol and drugs involved.
The Wiscasset Ambulance Service and Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline responded to the inn at 306 Bath Rd. (Rt. 1) at about 7:15 a.m. on a report of a man who was unconscious and not breathing.
MacInnes’ cousin, Wayne Perkins, 32, “was in the room with (MacInnes) and found MacInnes face down on the floor,” according to WPD.
MacInnes died at the scene, according to WPD.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Maine State Police and the Wiscasset Police Department investigated the incident.
