A 31-year-old Salem, Mass. man who allegedly supplied convicted Lincoln County heroin dealers has been indicted in Maine and is currently awaiting trial at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.
Jacob T. “J.T.” Snow faces charges of class A aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs (heroin) and class C illegal importation of scheduled drugs, according to court documents.
A Sagadahoc County grand jury indicted Snow April 15. He was arrested in Massachusetts May 4 and transported to Maine.
Snow was allegedly a source for Nickolas J. Buscanera, 22, of Westport Island, and his girlfriend, Stephanie M. Little, 26, of Edgecomb. Buscanera and Little were arrested in Woolwich May 15, 2014 while returning from Massachusetts with 50 grams of heroin.
Buscanera pleaded guilty to class B unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs and class C illegal importation of scheduled drugs May 6. He has not been sentenced.
Little pleaded guilty to class A aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs and class C illegal importation of scheduled drugs March 4. She is serving a 3½ year prison sentence for the importation charge at the Maine Correctional Center in Windham and awaits sentencing on the trafficking charge.
The prosecutor in all three cases, Maine Assistant Attorney General Jamie Guerrette, confirmed the state’s belief that Snow supplied Buscanera and Little. “He is the alleged source,” Guerrette said.
Snow was never in Maine, although the law allows the state to charge him here, according to Guerrette. The indictment specifically accuses Snow of committing the crimes in Lincoln “and/or” Sagadahoc County.
Snow is in custody at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset with bail set at $50,000 cash.
His court-appointed attorney, Matthew Kanwit, declined comment. “It’s too early in the case,” he said.
A dispositional conference for the case will take place at the West Bath courthouse at 8:30 a.m. July 8.
