Alna’s ongoing road repair projects may need more funds to be fully completed.
After meeting with Road Commissioner Mike Trask Sept. 15, the Alna Board of Selectmen scheduled a special meeting for Mon., Sept. 19, at 6:30 p.m. to determine whether funds planned for other road projects should be shifted over.
The meeting will be held at the Alna Town Office.
Major repairs are currently being performed on six Alna roads: Egypt, Lothrop, Bailey, Rabbit Path, Dock and Golden Ridge roads. Alna has borrowed $522,000 for the work.
On Thursday night, Trask told the board work on Golden Ridge Road may not be finished if more funds are not appropriated. As of Sept. 15, 200 tons more asphalt was used than anticipated, Trask said.
Though he wasn’t certain if there would be cost overrun, Trask said he would have a better picture by Monday once work on Rabbit Path Road is finished.
