At 11:32 a.m. on Tues. the National Weather Service (NWS) issued the second Winter Storm warning in as many days regarding a front that is forecast to bring an additional 5 to 9 inches of snowfall to Lincoln County by Weds. afternoon.
Steady but moderate snowfall was already falling over Lincoln County at the time of this posting, which is just a preview for the overnight hours, according to the NWS.
Low pressure presently forming over southern New England will track up the coast to the Gulf of Maine, arriving tonight, according to the NWS. The further it moves north, the more the storm will intensify, primarily affecting central and midcoast Maine during the overnight hours, according to the NWS.
The Winter Storm Warning ends at noon on Weds., when the steady snowfall should taper off to flurries, according to the NWS.
No major incidents or power outages have been reported at the time of this posting.
The Lincoln County News website will continue to follow the progress of this storm and post any additional information here as soon as it becomes available.
