Central Lincoln County School System Superintendent Steve Bailey is a finalist to become Cape Elizabeth’s new superintendent, according to The Portland Press Herald.
The Cape Elizabeth School Board announced Monday, April 11 that Bailey was one of two finalists for the position. The other is Craig King, superintendent of Western Foothills Regional School Unit 10 in Dixfield.
Both candidates will visit Cape Elizabeth the week of April 25 to meet with students, staff, parents, and community members, according to the Portland Press Herald.
Prior to being hired as AOS 93’s superintendent in 2011, Bailey served as assistant superintendent and curriculum director in South Portland and held principal positions in Veazie, South Portland, and Exeter, N.H.
In 2014, Bailey was named Maine Superintendent of the Year.
Bailey was not immediately available for comment.
