Daniel R. Daigneault, president and chief executive officer of The First, N.A., recently announced a management promotion at The First. April Lawrence has been promoted to Assistant Compliance Officer of The First. “I am pleased to recognize April for her outstanding service. Her commitment to our organization is to be commended,” stated Daigneault.
“Banking regulations today change at a rapid-fire pace,” said Lawrence. “Interpreting, simplifying and making them work in the best interest of our customers gives me great satisfaction every day.”
Lawrence is a graduate of Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I., where she received her B.S. in Business Administration and Finance. She also attended Cazenovia College in New York, where she achieved an A.A.S. degree in Equine Management. She has also earned her General Banking Diploma from the American Institute of Banking, and has taken numerous financial and management courses.
Lawrence has been employed by The First for 13 years, and has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility within the bank. She started her financial career as a teller and later advanced to the loan processing and branch management teams.
Lawrence was vital to the organization as she helped build The First’s loan document imaging department while acting in her previous position as Compliance Administrator.
Lawrence is a regular participant for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Maine, and is a member of the Edgecomb Congregational Church. She is also a Registered Maine Sea Kayak Guide as well as a United States Army Reservist. Lawrence has been a resident of Edgecomb for the past 12 years.
