Lincoln County residents looking forward to a romantic dinner out for their Valentine’s Day celebration needn’t be deterred by ominous weather reports for Sunday. The latest forecast indicates that the heaviest snowfall will hold off until the late night hours of Saturday, and a survey of restaurants featuring Valentine’s Day specials in the The Lincoln County News Dining Out section confirms that all of them will remain open.
Some snowfall can be expected during the evening hours, but it shouldn’t have the intensity and high winds that the weather front will bring overnight, according to forecasters. The National Weather Service briefing at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday forecast snowfall totals of only 1 to 4 inches in the Lincoln County area before 10 p.m.
Nonetheless, any snowfall on the roads should prompt motorists to exercise reasonable caution and allow adequate time to travel to and from their destinations.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it is obtained.
