An Arrowsic man facing 44 counts of unlawful sexual contact with a minor in Boothbay was re-arrested by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 8 and charged with gross sexual assault, according to records at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.
Michael Cassell, 61, was originally arrested Nov. 16 in connection with incidents that allegedly took place between February 2009 and October 2010 in Boothbay, where Cassell had family friends, LCSO Det. Sgt. Ken Hatch said in an interview about Cassell’s initial arrest.
On Dec. 8, Cassell was booked at TBRJ around 1 p.m. and released on bail shortly thereafter, according to jail records.
