Atlantic Motorcar of Wiscasset has been under the national spotlight lately after a first place recognition for its new website, followed by a feature article in the April edition of AutoInc. Magazine.
“We spend a great deal of time and effort to make sure our online presence is easy to use and communicate with,” said Bruce Howes, owner of Atlantic Motorcar. According to AutoInc. magazine, the website was especially noteworthy for its emphasis on supporting the Atlantic Motorcar commitment of “Earning your trust, every time you turn the key.”
AutoInc. Magazine is the official publication of the Automotive Service Association, and is published monthly with nationwide distribution.
The website article noted that the Atlantic Motorcar domain features “rotating headlines that remind customers of everyday (but often forgotten) services to shop news to timely headlines related to autos and their service.”
The magazine writer also “really enjoyed perusing the site’s blog because it offered so much more than just specials and shop news.”
Atlantic Motorcar’s website is its mobile-friendly website, which visitors are automatically directed to when a mobile browser is detected.”
All of this positive attention brought AutoInc. Magazine correspondent Levy Joffrion to Wiscasset to learn more about Atlantic Motorcar and what brought Bruce Howes to develop a state-of-the-art service facility for European and Japanese automobiles in Midcoast Maine.
His observations were published in an article, “Following His Dream Takes Shop’s ‘Captain’ to Maine” published in the April edition of AutoInc. Magazine. It tells the story of Howes’ love of sailing and nautical history and how that brought him from Buffalo, N.Y. to coastal Wiscasset. Howes said he was drawn to the area because of the nearby Maine Maritime Museum and Wiscasset harbor where he kept his O’Day 23 sailboat and would often sail the Sheepscot River.
“I love the antique stores and the historic architecture, and that the town has a nice big green with the church and courthouse,” Howes said. “I definitely didn’t end up here by accident.”
Atlantic Motorcar is located on Rt. 1 in Wiscasset. The telephone number is 882-9969 and the website is www.atlanicmotorcar.com.
