A 45-year-old Augusta man was injured after he pulled his car into the path of a northbound pickup truck on Route 1 in Waldoboro July 28.
Raymond Seiders was operating a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant when he attempted to exit the parking lot of Maritime Farms, according to Waldoboro Police Officer
Larry Hesseltine.
Seiders first pulled the vehicle partially into the right-hand lane of northbound traffic on Route 1 and then, as a 2011 GMC Sierra in that lane attempted
to go around him, pulled out further into the truck’s path, Hesseltine said.
The truck was operated by George Hendron, 52, of Waldoboro, Hesseltine said.
Seiders received lacerations to his face and arms, but refused medical transport, opting to be driven for treatment by his passenger, Hesseltine said.
Airbags deployed in both vehicles and all were wearing seat belts, he said.
The accident closed Route 1 briefly as two flatbeds from Hillside Collision Center loaded the two vehicles.
Waldoboro EMS and Waldoboro Fire Department both responded to the scene.
