A Bath man faces a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass after allegedly entering an acquaintance’s Boothbay Harbor home through an unlocked window shortly after 3 a.m. Sept. 18.
Jeffrey Firth, 20, was intoxicated upon his unannounced arrival at the Bay Street residence, Boothbay Harbor Police Dept. Officer Jared Mitkus said.
The homeowner contacted police, Mitkus said, and officers arrived “within minutes,” according to a post on the department’s facebook page. Firth fled, but officers caught up to and arrested him later the same morning.
Police dropped a burglary charge after investigating the incident, Mitkus said.
