Downshifting to a Tropical Storm as it passed through Maine waters and tracking further east than forecast, Earl left no significant damage behind in Lincoln County. In fact, the steady overnight rainfall that was Earl’s most obvious effect was badly needed in Lincoln County after a four-day heat wave.
There were no major incidents during Earl’s overnight stay, according to the Lincoln County Communications Center (LCCC). As of 10:30 a.m. on Saturday the Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) was reporting only two isolated power outages in the county, on Mank’s Corner Rd. in Waldoboro and the Erskine Line in Jefferson.
High waves on the coast will remain a probability as Earl continues to move north, and visitors to these areas should exercise due caution.
The rest of the Labor Day holiday is forecast for clear skies and mild temps.
