Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Crummett Mountain Road in Somerville, Thursday afternoon finding the structure fully ablaze.
According to the State Fire Marshal’s Office the fire was reported at 3:30 p.m. by a neighbor who saw smoke and drove to the farm house on the Crummett Mountain Road to find it ablaze. A body was recovered in the kitchen of the burnt out house Thursday night about 9 p.m. Investigators believe the body is that of the homeowner – 92-year-old Cecil Brann, who lived alone. The State Medical Examiner’s Office will examine the body Friday.
Fire units from Whitefield, Windsor, Jefferson, North Whitefield and Coopers Mills were observed assisting the Somerville Fire Department at the scene.
