The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating damage to the ticket booth at Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Park, discovered the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 19.
The parks department believes the damage was done during the overnight hours Feb. 18-19, perhaps by a red truck, due to the paint left behind, according to Parks Director Lara Sargent.
She said that while the department plans to install security cameras at the park, it has not yet done so.
There is extensive damage to the exterior and interior of the booth, Sargent said.
“The impact on one side of the building pushed the donation box away from the building on the opposite side,” she said.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Brendan Kane asked anyone with information about the incident to contact the sheriff’s office at 882-7332.
