Kenneth Dobson, 36, of Boothbay Harbor, was indicted last week on 11 counts of Class A and 17 counts of Class B gross sexual assault.
The indictment alleges a long list of crimes against two minor girls.
The Class A charges allege that Dobson “did engage in” sexual acts with two girls under the age of 14. The Class B charges allege similar crimes against the same victims while they were under the age of 18.
According to the victims’ statements as incorporated in Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Detective Robert McFetridge’s affidavit, the alleged assaults began in 2005, when the first victim was 12 years old.
According to the affidavit, the victim told McFetridge that “between 2005 and 2009 there were multiple incidents in which Kenneth Dobson would force her to have sexual intercourse with him” and that Dobson threatened “to harm her” and her family in various ways if she told anyone or “if she stopped having sex with him.”
According to the affidavit, the second victim told McFetridge that Dobson “used force to have sexual intercourse” with her when she was 14.
Dobson allegedly “told [the victim] he would kill her and anyone she told about what he had done,” according to the affidavit.
Dobson’s defense attorney, David Paris, declined comment.
Dobson has been incarcerated at Two Bridges Regional Jail since June 14. His bail is set at $10,000 cash.
The case is scheduled for a status conference on Thurs., Aug. 25 at 8:30 a.m. in Lincoln County Superior Court.
