The Maine Department of Marine Resources has ordered the closure of the waters from the Maine/New Hampshire border to Pumpkin Cove in Bristol for certain shellfish. It includes mussels, European oysters and carnivorous snails.
At this time, the ban does not include any clam areas. However, DMR officials say conditions are changing warning the first clam closure might happen next week in Eastern Casco Bay, Harpswell and Phippsburg.
