The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has identified the driver killed in yesterday’s fatal collision on Rt. 27 in Edgecomb as 62-year-old Eugene E. Estes Jr., of Scarborough.
Estes, employed as a courier for NorDx Laboratory in Scarborough, was traveling south on Rt. 27, having picked up laboratory specimens from St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor at the time of the accident. Estes was driving a NorDx company vehicle.
Deputies worked with NorDx officials to preserve the specimens contained in Estes’ vehicle at the time of the crash.
The investigation into the crash continues.
