A Jefferson man has been arrested on drug and theft charges as a result of an investigation into a series of burglaries at N.C Hunt Lumber Inc. on Rt. 215 in Jefferson.
According to a statement from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Brian Bennett, 28, was charged with burglary, theft and cultivation of marijuana after a search warrant was executed at his home Saturday.
As a result of the search warrant, numerous power tools and other building supplies all believed stolen from N.C. Hunt Lumber were recovered from Bennett’s home. Total value of recovered property is approximately $3500.
Police also seized 45 seedling marijuana plants and a small amount of processed marijuana.
Bennett is currently being held at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset pending an appearance in court.
