Snowfall will begin on Weds. morning in Lincoln County and should increase steadily through the day, becoming heavy at times during the afternoon and evening hours, according to the most recent Winter Storm Warning from the National Weather Service (NWS).
The potential exists for significant snowfall accumulating to 8-12 inches by late Weds. night, according to the NWS. There is also a possibility that the snowfall will mix with sleet as temps warm in the late afternoon and evening hours, especially along immediate coastal areas and peninsulas in Lincoln County, according to the NWS bulletin.
The Storm Warning is effect from 10 a.m. Weds. to 7 a.m. on Thurs., according to the NWS.
The snowfall will arrive courtesy of a low front forecast to deepen near Cape Cod on Weds. then chug northeasterly through the Gulf of Maine during the day.
The NWS warns that driving will be dangerous during the heaviest snowfall, which may include the evening commute.
