At 2:47 p.m. on Thurs. the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a warning in regard to a line of thunderstorms tracking toward Lincoln County and expected to impact the area. By 4:19 p.m. the NWS had taken down the warning, and radar images monitored at intellicast.com indicated that the most organized thunder cells were dissipating. A line of rainfall was still headed for the area, according to NWS forecasts and radar images.
At 3:34 p.m. the radar indicated a notably large thunderstorm had developed at the Kennebec River and was approaching Dresden and other northern areas of Lincoln County. However, this storm cell broke up as it moved further east toward Jefferson.
The Lincoln County News website will continue to monitor these storms and post any additional information here as soon as it becomes available.
