Lincoln County remained under a Winter Weather Advisory Weds. afternoon as morning snowfall changed over to sleet, making for slippery road conditions and leading to numerous school closures.
Radar images monitored at 11:44 a.m. on intellicast.com indicated that Lincoln County was right on the freeze line of the storm as it tracked to the north-northeast. The border between snow and sleet fluctuated constantly across the county, with more sleet in the southern peninsulas and more snowfall in the northern highlands of the county.
The mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is forecast to continue through this afternoon, and may mix with rain as the southern end of the storm passes through, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Total accumulation of snow and sleet for Lincoln County should be in the 2 to 5 inch range, and some light ice accumulation is possible, according to the NWS.
